The Big Gourd Drawing

This wine kettle gourd was grown by Fred McCorkle of Windfall, IN with the help of mother nature and has been crafted by the following Missouri artists: Pat Wilkinson, Cass Iverson, Rob Ghio, Bert L. Petris, Susan Forrest, Lori Dahir, Elaine Endicotte, Eddie Taylor, Melynda Lotven (with assistance from Olivia Lotven), and it is still on its journey until it is completed. Celebrating the year of the farmer, after it is completed it will then be on display at the Indiana Show in March and then offered in a drawing at the 5th Annual Show Me Gourd Society Festival in Sedalia Missouri, April 26th and 27th.

If you would like information on the 2003 Show Me Gourd festival email Lora Dahir at dahir@tri-lakes.net or check out the Show Me Gourd Society website at www.showmegourdsociety.com

Still more artists to go, this gourd will be on display at the 5th annual Show Me Gourd festival at the Sedalia state fair grounds April 26th and 27th.

Melynda Lotven painted a "Farmers little helper " a picture of Olivia her daughter at age 3 in the gourd garden. Olivia added a golden gourd and gold dust spraying from the wand.

Rob Ghio lends his expertise in chip carving and lettering around Pat Wilkinson's wood burning of a beautiful ear of corn.

Cass Iverson of Sturgeon, Missouri painted this beautiful country landscape, with windmill, farm house and laundry blowing in the breeze.

Pat Wilkinson's masterful wood burning added these stalks of wheat.

Susan Forrest of Sturgeon, Missouri painted this beautiful wreath of gourds around the bottom of the gourd, surrounding a wood burned feed sack by Rob Ghio. Inside the feed sack are the signatures of all the artists.

Pat Wilkinson delicately wood burned this farm scene.

Bert Petrie from Roach, Missouri wood burned this church
 and colored it with  pastels.
