
First I cut the thick gourd with my hand jigsaw. | 
I clean out what pulp I can by hand. |

I filled the gourd with water and let it sit in the sink for about 2 hours. |

I let the top soak in the water as well. | 
This scallop shell has been very useful in cleaning gourds dry and wet. |

After 15 minutes I scrape out the inner pulp with my scalloped shell. | 
The pulp comes out much easier wet and no dust to worry about. |

I used the chore boy to clean out anything loose. |
