Drying Gourds If I had a dollar for every time I was told "I grew gourds but they got moldy and I threw them out " I would be a millionaire, well almost. So I thought I would take pictures of my gourds that are outside going through the curing, drying stage. If a gourd is good it will dry anywhere I like to set mine outside and let the elements help the dying process. Just be sure where ever you dry your gourds that mice and rats do not have access. They will eat holes in them and build nests. Gourds will take 6 months to a year to dry. They WILL mold...just leave them be and let them cure.
