In the words of Laurie

"Several months ago I was honored and humbled by your request to paint a mural in the new fire station. I knew this had to be special, so I must confess that I was daunted by the task. How could I represent the heart of a firefighter? So began my journey. This became much more than a painting to me. I was in awe of the compassion, devotion and humanity your lives represent. No matter what, no matter where, you're ready to drop whatever you're doing to be there for me and for anyone in need. Everything you do comes from the heart, and this is why I  would like to entitle this painting and my business "From the Heart ", in honor of each of you. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to give something back to you.
